MALA was conceived from an idea that originated many years ago, culminating in the launch of its first piece in 2021 as an experimental venture. Since then, it has experienced rapid growth, emerging as a favorite among those who wear its pieces. The name MALA derives from the last name of its founder, Diana Malacara, a name similar to its creator's, memorable and resonant. 

Additionally, MALA finds its roots in the enduring guidance and counsel imparted by the founder’s father over three decades ago, a lesson she carries with her to this day.

Our vision for MALA extends globally, although its current acclaim has been predominantly observed in Mexico, the United States, and Spain.

Her designs consistently strive to become treasured items, versatile and resilient against fleeting fashion trends. We have been growing organically, thanks to this shared vision with all those who collaborate in this process of creating clothes.
